Britax Römer Baby-Safe 2 i-Size is an excellent safety seat just as its previous model, the Britax Römer Baby-Safe i-Size. It is well designed in every little detail, extremely comfortable for the child, and finally has one of the most important features for me: the lie-flat position because newborn and small babies’ muscles are not developed enough. The seat includes a newborn insert to provide extra support and energy absorption in case of a crash. When you adjust the headrest for a newborn size, it automatically shapes into the lying position As your child grows, you can remove the infant insert and adjust the headrest for optimal height, together with a more upright position.
Britax Römer Baby-Safe 2 i-Size has an adjustable handle, and by moving it to the back, you can easily put your baby in the seat.
An indicator gives extra safety by turning from red to green when you connected the carrier correctly to a pushchair or to its base in the car.
The cover is easily and quickly removable, there is no need to remove the harnesses and you can put the cover right into the washing machine.
Britax Römer Baby-Safe 2 i-Size has got an additional and newly developed side impact protection (called SICT) for extra protection in case of a side impact. Its function is to push the baby away in a controlled movement and then it gets deformed from the energy that otherwise the baby would have got. All you have to do is to place the SICT to the side of the carrier that is closed to the door in the car.
The sun canopy protects your child both from sun(UPF 50+) and wind in the car and on a pushchair.
The 5-point harness provides the safest way to travel as it keeps your baby safe and tight in the protective seat shell, as well as it absorbs the energy of the impact on five points instead of three. (as in very many seats).
In case, you do not use the Isofix base, the seat shows you a clear instruction on how to fasten the seat with a three-point seat belt.
